Primary Care forms the largest part of most people's experience of health care, as it is the first point of contact in the health care system and often acts as the 'front door' of the NHS.
From 1 April 2016, NHS England delegated responsibility for commissioning primary medical services to Clinical Commissioning Groups. This means that Berkshire West CCG makes decisions on the review, planning and procurement of primary care services in the area. This work is undertaken by the CCG's Primary Care Commissioning Committee.
Our Primary Care Team is based at Bath Road, Reading and works closely with the CCG’s management team. They are responsible for supporting the delivery of the Primary Care Strategy.
