  • Berkshire Healthier You: Diabetes Prevention Programme 
    This programme supports people at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

    Programmes are held in a range of locations across Newbury & District,  Reading and Wokingham. If there isn't a programme running in the patient's area at the time of referral, they will be placed on a waiting list until the next one begins or have the opportunity to attend programmes in other areas.

  • Eat4Health: Wokingham and West Berkshire
    Eat4Health is a free healthy lifestyle programme running in West Berkshire and Wokingham. The course will help support those who wish to lose weight and learn how to maintain a healthier lifestyle. It is suitable for people who have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. The courses are delivered in group settings with each session lasting 1½ hours, and contains 45 minutes of interactive nutrition workshop and 45 minutes of gentle physical activity. It is available to those who are aged 16 years and above and whose BMI is equal to or greater than 25.
  • The NHS weight loss plan
    Patients can download the NHS weight loss guide here. This is a free 12-week diet and exercise plan. The plan features:
    • safe and sustainable weight loss
    • learning to make healthier food choices
    • support from our online community
    • weekly progress chart
    • exercise plans to help weight loss
    • skills to prevent weight regain

  • Change4Life
    This is a flagship programme helping to prevent childhood obesity.
    Change4Life aims to improve health behaviours, such as poor diet and lack of physical activity which can lead to obesity, particularly in children. Further details are available here:
